Air quality is a problem in the day to day life of the average person:

• Indoor air is 80-100 times more polluted than outdoor air [1]
• People spend 90% of their time indoors [2] with indoor air generally filled with contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, moulds and mildew.
• 80% of air-conditioned air is also re-circulated [3] and is often not serviced and cleaned during circulation, often adding to air contamination.

Infection is spread in many ways, but the two predominant transfers of infection are via contact and inhalation. Up until now, the conventional defence against infection has been surface cleaning and hand washing. Ultraviolet light (UV) is electromagnetic radiation in a wave length range that is invisible to the eye.
All of Technilamp’s systems are designed around the 254nm UV-C spectrum, using Philips Lamp Technology.

Airborne viruses move with the convection flow of air. The UV-C light is germicidal; it deactivates the DNA of bacteria by destroying their ability to reproduce. The airborne virus is killed instantly when coming in to contact within the radius of the UV-C irradiance kill area.

HEPA FILTERS – are effective for dust, pollen, and tobacco, but only 50% of molds are ineffective for bacteria and viruses.
